Tucson economy: Old Pueblo middling among peers for broadband access

In 2018, the percentage of people living in a household with broadband internet access was 86.9% in the Tucson Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), placing it seventh among 12 comparable MSAs and just ahead of the national rate. Technology is an integral part of our everyday lives. It is prevalent throughout how we do business and how we interact with businesses (such as online banking), as well as each other (social media). The majority of U.S. households have online access through internet/broadband services, however there are still those that do not for reasons of availability, cost, or personal preference. Access to broadband services is greatly diminished for those that live in rural communities.
