The Arizona economy decelerated significantly last year. Gains in jobs, population, taxable sales, and personal income slowed. Single-family permits increased by a lot last year but housing affordability remained low. Even with slowing growth, the labor market was very tight, with low unemployment, while employment cost growth slowed as job churn lost momentum.
Where are the global, national, state, and local economies headed next? How will tariffs, deportations, and federal layoffs impact the U.S. and Arizona? Are we headed for recession? Will interest rates trend down or spike up? When will housing affordability improve? Is inflation headed for another big surge? Will stock prices surge or melt down?
